Playing as the Alkari, our advisor tossed in random bird squawks which-while somewhat a parody of each alien’s role-does help make each race feel suitably different and appealing. Voice acting, for instance, is also tailored to each race. The races are in fact one of the most impressive parts of Master of Orion’s whole. Or it’s the fidelity of Master of Orion’s classic races, now rendered in full 3D and animated in thematically appropriate ways (i.e. For instance, every building you create is rendered out on the surface of your planets-planets that are constantly in motion, with ships and satellites orbiting overhead. They were so scared that the Alkari I was running against even voted for me. Then because I was about to hit the 500 turn limit I just told them to vote for me. That was their actual relationship status with me. Eventually I had by necessity built a fleet that was unstoppable and couldn't help noticing that the Mrrshan stopped talking trash and everyone was afraid of me. None of the races liked me or respected me till i refused to give money at the Sakkras demand so they declared war and I was forced to go full military industrial just to stay alive as the Sakkra were the strongest race in my play through. Like I said, this was an accident for me. Once they are all afraid of you you just tell them to vote for you. Pretty much just get so far ahead of everyone else in military strength that they fear you outright and you don't even have to hurt anyone. I won my first play through with diplomatic victory almost by accident. What is some good general advice for achieving a diplomatic victory? What I didn't know is that other factions were at war and attempting to be friendly with them only made them both angry. It seems I made the mistake of trying to be friendly with everybody.
